How to Order Books from The Inner Bookshop

You may order online from this site using the virtual shopping basket.

Once you have chosen a book, click on the "order" button next to it, to add the number of copies you want to your "basket". It is easy at any time to check the contents of your basket by clicking on Check Basket here or in any book details screen. You can delete books from your basket if you change your mind.

Once you have assembled in your "basket" all the books you wish to buy, click Click here to Order, at which point you will be transferred to the order page, where you can enter your details and any particular instructions.

Payment Methods
We now have a new order system on our order page that allows 3 different options of payment:

1: Please use my credit/debit card or credit balance saved in my account.
This is for returning customers who have either asked us to save their card details on our inventory system not attched to the internet or they have a credit balance from returned books or have sold us some secondhand books for credit.

2: I will contact you with the card details or alternative payment.
This option is for those who want to arrange a payment by alternative means that sending their card details. There are further options on the next stage of the order system:

1: Cheque in GB Pounds Sterling
2: UK Postal Order or International Money Order in GB Pounds Sterling
3: IBAN (SWIFT) direct money transfer (E.U. Only)
4: UK National Book Tokens
5: I will contact you with the card details or alternative payment

In all these cases the order will be reserved fro you for two weeks whilst we await payment. We cannot send out orders until they are paid for.

We can now also receive IBAN payments from banks in ECBS affiliated countries in Europe. When selecting this we will contact you with the codes. The fee for these transfers and possible currency conversions, is always covered by the buyer. In some cases we can do this to North America too using the BIC system but it may take a while longer.

Where the "+" refers to the country of origin's international dial code.

3: I will send my credit/debit card details now.
This will take you to our Secure Socket Layer (SSL) which encrypts your card details securely then sends them as an email to us. Only once we have received the order and it is ready for dispatch to we decrypt it locally (not over the internet) and charge it as if you had come into the shop.

In general though we accept all manner of GB Pounds Sterling, whether Cash, Cheque, Postal Orders, UK Book Tokens, International Money Orders or Card Payments. We have even been known to accept unused UK Postage Stamps or cash in Euros or US Dollars, sent at the customers risk.

As for cards whether debit or credit cards we accept VISA, MASTERCARD, MAESTRO and SWITCH or SOLO (but NOT American Express or Diners). Cards are only charged at the point of dispatch of the order, not when the order is received. For people outside the UK and unsure of the value in Great Britain Pounds (GBP), below is a currency conversion tool courtesy of The Universal Currency Converter. Input the total of the books you wish to buy, plus the postage rate total (not per item), into the left hand box. In the right hand section choose your currency and click the conversion button. The amount displayed is the current international conversion rate. This is not the same as that which your card company sets and there may be an added fee to convert to GBP when paying for your items. For exact amounts please consult your card issuer.

Delivery Details

Delivery charges per item are as follows:

UK 1st class £ 2.50 for the 1st item, £ 1.25 per subsequent item in the same parcel
- Taking 1 - 3 days.

UK 2nd class £ 2.20 for the 1st item, £ 1.00 per subsequent item in the same parcel
- Taking 2 - 7 days.

European Union (priority) £ 4.75 for the 1st item, £ 4.00 per subsequent item in the same parcel
- Taking 3 - 14 days.

European Union (economy) £ 4.20 for the 1st item, £ 3.50 per subsequent item in the same parcel
- Taking 10 - 20 days.

Rest of World (priority) £ 6.00 for the 1st item, £ 5.00 per subsequent item in the same parcel
- Taking 5 - 14 days.

Rest of World (economy) £ 4.95 for the 1st item, £ 4.50 per subsequent item in the same parcel
- Taking 2 - 12 weeks.

Orders are normally despatched within 48 hours of receiving your order. If books are temporarily out of stock, we will despatch them as soon as possible. If they will be longer than 2 weeks we will let you know.

Please note that the secondhand books listed may be single copies, and although our stock details are updated regularly, some will have been sold.

Still Having Problems

If you are unable to order it is most likely that you have not enabled JavaScript or Cookies on your computer. Some high security settings disable these functions too. If your Shopping Basket is always empty even after putting items in it then you need to have the JavaScript and Cookies enabled. If for some reason you are unable to use our search facilities or simply want to look. We have a list of all our current stock below. This has links to every single stock item's page, approximately 20,000 items, so it is several very large pages and should only be used as a last resort. The books are the ones actually on our shelves at present so don't include any special order items. They are in alphabetical order by title and listed in pages by the first letter of the title. Also if you have been unable to find a book by our Full Search page or our Subjects pages then this may be helpful as a last hope of jogging your memory at least.
